We've been offline and unplugged for a week!
After a great year with Dell, they sent us packing to Maui for some R and R!

We stayed at the Ritz Carlton,
Kalaupa just outside
Lahaina.
We each read an entire book in a week - with this view!

It wasn't all about hours at the beach reading, we had a ton of adventure time as well, and I (Jen) had multiple opportunities to step WAY out of my comfort zone. WAY. Here's a little "Pete and Pickles" Maui style.......

It all started with some cliff hugging, winding, coastal drives along both the West and South shorelines.

We went ocean kayaking. The part I wasn't prepared for was when the guide says, "There is your snorkel gear, now I'll teach you the correct way to jump out of your boat..." What??? Well at least the ocean was warm, and look at all the new friends we met below the waves. We saw so many sea turtles and got to swim right alongside them. We also met Mr. Seven Foot White Tip Reef Shark! It was AMAZING and a little bit
ooooh scary.

And here we are flying across the canyon on a string and a prayer. It was so fun (after the first step off the platform). Glen was flying like a pro from the first, but I was an intense bundle of nerves! I got the hang of it though and my bigger fear was not sliding but getting STUCK. Our guides knew it and enjoyed messing with my mind. They kept telling me I was too light to make it all the way across so they could make me run and jump off the platforms, or run and launch me off themselves. I was pretty sure it was a joke, but I wasn't going to risk hanging out over the canyon with time to think about falling.

Here we are after our "team building activity". We built solar cars (from kits) and made "Go Green" team flags. We had the opportunity to meet and talk to lots of couples
at meals and various activities. I'm pretty shy so that too was
a challenge for me, but I enjoyed watching and studying Glen's people skills and learning to break out of my shell a little more. At the end the week we even did some dancing to a live band. Friday nights may never be the same!

Onion Days in Maui? It doesn't get any better than that!

My favorite part of the trip? This guy of course! Spending the entire week playing together was FANTASTIC! We'll be married 17 years in a couple weeks and I have to say, it just gets better every day! I think we are a great team here at home, but we still have so much fun just being together! It's a great thing to be married to your best friend!
