Hope

Yesterday after Sam ran away and used the metal folding chairs as a drum set durring Sunday School, I decided to beg refuge in the infant nursery. They let us in, I set Sam down, he took one look around and got a HUGE grin on his face. He didn't look at me once the hour we were in there. Once I tried to help him and he pushed me out of the way. He didn't care about getting toys stollen, pushy kids, or falling off the table, he was just so happy to be there. Since we technically have 2 months before he is allowed in, when I had to leave for Young Women's I took him with me. Well, he was NOT happy about that. Have you ever seen a baby standing in the hall, hanging on the door knob SCREAMING because he can't get INTO the nursery? there is a light at the end of the tunnel...too bad it's 7 weeks away!

Checking on the Boys

MOM CALLING HOME: "Is everything ok? What are you boys doing?"

BERKELEY: "Well, I'm just playing with Jacob."

MOM: "What are you playing?"

BERKELEY: "Oh we are just playing on the rocking chair and it falls over and Jacob's face turns very red then blue. It's fun."

MOM: "Don't do that again! I'm going to be home in just a minute."

BERKELEY: "Ok. Bye. "(Before the phone hangs up I hear him say...) "Jacob, mom says no more making your face turn blue when she's not home."

*Side note for the concerned grandparent: Turns out that Jacob's face was turning red then blue from laughing.

Berry Boy

Samuel LOVES strawberries. He can even say, "berries, berries".

"Oh snap, they're gone."
What will he eat in the winter?

Where there's a will there's a way....

Sammy went into the house to get his sippy cup, only to get the door shut behind him. He stood there crying for a second, until Sophie the dog came in through her door to see what was wrong. He barely paused to think before finding the obvious solution to his problem.

"Oh wait, I forgot my cup........"

Ward Camp-Out Extention

Our ward camp-out was this weekend, but we haven't been feeling too well this week so we decided to stay home. The Marbles were also staying home so they invited us over for a camp fire - hot dogs and S'mores.

"Hey Eddie, sorry you can't have chocolate."

I'm not sure which was more fun, the self photo shoot, or watching the pictures back later. "....and one side of the mushroom makes you grow taller."
Berkeley and Holly -The Mighty Gecko Hunters!!!

Dawson sustained our only camping injury.
I think it's time for bed. Jeffrey set up the tent for us in our back yard before he went to the BASE CAMP in Payson with Bruce and Marie. After some late night trampoline games, we finally talked the boys into hitting the sack.It was so warm! I had a hard time not dressing everyone warm and piling up the blankets. Utah camp habits die hard. I didn't even end up using a blanket.

We sure missed Jeffrey, especially when the night came and the creatures were crawling.

It's Hereditary!

BrookLynn: "How could I forget? I am going to tell my children!.......IF I remember!"

It's Our Lucky Day

Jeffrey's bike pedal shredded his shin this afternoon while riding in the desert with Brandon and Davis.

Lucky for Brandon,
Jeffrey needed him to sacrifice his stylish tube sock to stop the bleeding.

Lucky for me,

I got to teach Jeffrey how to shave.....his legs!

(He thought that was worse than the cut, but better than putting surgical tape on hair.)

Lucky for Bruce ,

we decided to go for skin bonding glue rather than stitches.

Lucky for Marie,

Bruce didn't glue her fingers to Jeffrey's leg.

Lucky for Alexa,

she could be supportive via text messaging.

Lucky for Jeffrey,

he has these cool glasses.

Pear-in' Party

So now Marie, Brooklynn and I have done our domestic duty. After an hour of pearing, I called my Mom and asked her what the tricks are to canning pears, you know, to make it go faster.

SHE LAUGHED!
I told her we had four boxes.
SHE LAUGHED!

What can you do?

WE LAUGHED!
We watched "50 First Dates" (Clean Flix version)
and "Princess Bride"

So here it is, the FRUI TS OF OUR ELBOW GREASE.

I had to take a few pictures, cause I can promise we won't be doing this again!

My latest adventure with Melanie...

Hmmmm...does something appear to be missing?
It's not as fun to hang out with Mel when she's not here.

Fruity

"Hey! Who put these lids on here?"
Samuel LOVES fruit! He really was excited about these huge boxes of peaches sitting in the kitchen. By the end of the week lots of the peaches had little bites in the side.

Bottles were pretty hard to come by, so we had to get creative with the fruit. We are drying, freezing, and doing jam and deserts.

It was a full kitchen, a huge family affair. Not only was it mom and all the kids, but all the grandmas for generations seemed to be hovering around as we passed on the tradition.

Mom was sick this week, and this project just did her in. Sealed with love......
