In-Breeding

Have you ever seen this? It is a peace lily. My sisters and friends will be amazed to learn that not only can I keep house-plants alive here in my sunny home, but aparently I can breed them. I think I have created a SIAMESE PEACE LILY. I have two plants that I put in the kitchen sink side-by-side to water, and last week they both opened up one of these double flowers. I guess they were too closely related.

2. People who are tagged, write a blog post about their own 8 random things, and post these rules.

3. At the end of your post you need to tag 8 people and include their names. Don’t forget to leave them a comment on their blog and tell them they’ve been tagged, and to come back and read your blog for the whole story.

My random facts/habits:

Poor Sammy!

They won't let me play with the phone, catch the birds, tip the plants, have the cleaners, or play in the potty! What kind of place is this?

Lady's Man!

Tonight we went to Melanie's year end Orchestra concert. Jacob LOVES classical music and instruments! You would have thought I'd taken him to Disneyland! He was SO happy and int erested through the entire evening! He was enthusiastically naming all the instruments he could see, and also recognized them by sound as well. His favorite is still the Cello. He also really enjoyed being the little gentleman and bringing the flowers for Melanie.
For our Utah family, let me tell you a little more about our adopted big sister.
All the seniors had a nice little write up about themselves in tonight's program which was read as their parents escorted them down the isle to the stage. Here is what Melanie had to say for herself:
.
"Melanie was born in a hospital. her parents are Michael and Kimberley Marble. In addition to playing her violin, Melanie has taught 'the young souls of the world the art of piano.' She is also estatic that she has survived the first eighteen years of her life without killing herself. Melanie's plans for the future include finishing the last few days of high school, goin to school to become the best music therapist, or nurse, or dental hygenist.........wait...scratch that! Melanie plans to reside with her parents for the rest of their lives, then she plans to move to California."
.
You can see why we get along.

Marie just LOVES it when I get a good idea!

Finally I was able to erase all the black prints off the flat white paint along the stairs! Have you watched "I Love Lucy" recently? Then you know that look on Ethel's face when Lucy starts hatching a plan? Can't you just hear her saying, "Oh No! Leave me out of it!" Whether it's the latest home project, or a shopping spree gone awry, just like Ethel, Marie somehow always seems to end up hefting furniture, searching Craig's List, dissecting and reassembling fish tanks, picking out ANOTHER pair of slippers I don't need, and climbing ladders to the places I just can't go. Why she hangs around I can't say, but I'm glad she does. (Maybe she just can't get down!)

"Johnny get ready, get set, don't go...."

We had a bunch of red eyes around here Weds. morning as we drove Johnny off to the airport. It was great having him around for the last 6 weeks, and hard to let him go. Everyone wanted to squeeze every last miniute out of the last evening. Here is how it all ended up......
We love you Johnny boy!
