HOW does your garden grow?

Jeffrey made all my dreams come true by clearing me a garden spot outside the kitchen. All the kids worked hard to clear rocks to get it ready, and Saturday Jacob and I planted our first Arizona herb and strawberry garden.
I need to learn a little more about Arizona "soil". Using my Utah garden skills on Arizona clay produced a giant sink hole and the world's biggest mud pie. It was like playing in pudding.
Glen spent the afternoon today fixing and moving hoses trying to repair my blunder.
I'll keep you updated!

There's a book called Extreme Gardening: How to grow organic in the hostile deserts. It's THE authoritative guide on successful gardening in the Phoenix area. My friends (who are featured in the May issue of Arizona Home and Garden) swear by this gardening bible. You may want to check it out!
