"I hate to kill anything, but in a survival situation all creatures are fair game." Yes, this is a rattlesnake. Boys found him, leader caught him, troop ate him for dinner. There are some things a mom doesn't want to know.
Speaking of things mom doesn't want to know, here is where Jeffrey spent his first night of scout camp. Sleeping in his home-made shelter surrounded by howling coyotes, he earned his survival merit badge, and soon will be starring in his own Discovery Channel adventure series. Actually, mom is very proud.

It looks like Jeffrey was in his element! That happened at our YW 4th year pack in. Pres Peterson shot the rattlesnake. I am happy to report that rattlesnake is "chewy" and suprisingly does NOT taste like chicken. Go figure!
